The Democratic candidate for Insurance Commissioner in Georgia has the backing of a former Governor, the former mayor of Columbus, and more than two dozen state representatives.

The slate includes the majority of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus, several Georgia State Senators, former Governor Roy Barnes, DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston, and former Columbus Mayor Teresa Tomlinson.

“I am honored to have the support of so many impactful leaders in this campaign. My colleagues in the General Assembly and state leaders like Governor Barnes, District Attorney Boston, and Mayor Tomlinson know the urgency demanded by our vision of a Georgia that centers the needs of working families across this state and comes out of this crisis stronger than ever before. I am grateful for the faith they have placed in me to bring our state forward in these uncertain times.
“Georgians are ready to elect leaders that work for us, and I’m proud to be running a campaign centered on prioritizing people before corporations and lowering premiums for consumers. I’m grateful to have received these endorsements, and I am eager to continue spreading our message across this state and gaining the support of Georgians who share our ideals for what we can be if we find the strength to come together.”
Wilson, who is an attorney, currently represents House District 80 in Atlanta. He was sworn in to office in 2019.
