U.S. Senators Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff announced Tuesday that $100 million was authorized in the National Defense Authorization Act for the construction of a new permanent party barracks facility at Georgia’s Ft. Stewart.
With the passage of the NDAA, the new housing facility will accommodate 372 soldiers at Ft. Stewart to ensure modern and safe housing.
Earlier this year, Sen. Ossoff secured a pledge from a Biden Administration nominee to support military base housing improvements at Ft. Benning and Ft. Gordon.
“We are delivering for the Ft. Stewart community with this investment in new barracks for our soldiers,” Sen. Ossoff said. “Sen. Rev. Warnock and I will continue working side-by-side to improve housing for military personnel in Georgia.”
“I’m proud to help secure funding for new housing for our soldiers at Ft. Stewart, and I’ll keep fighting to direct more federal investments to our state’s military installations,” said Sen. Warnock. “Georgia is a proud military state, and our servicemembers deserve a safe and stable environment to call home for all they do on behalf of our families and nation.”
