Warnock Under Investigation by State Election Officials

Newly elected United States Senator Raphael Warnock is under investigation by state election officials, according to a report.

The allegations that prompted the investigation stem from Warnock’s time as a chairman of The New Georgia Project, the voter registration launched by activist and former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. The group was formed in 2014, but Warnock was chair from 2019 to January 2020, when he announced he would be running for United States Senate.

Forbes reported the story Wednesday:

Under Georgia election rules, voting registration organizations like the New Georgia Project have to submit completed voter applications within 10 days they are received from the voter.

But officials allege during a 2019 registration effort, some 1,268 applications were submitted to the Gwinnett County elections office after the 10-day deadline.

State election officials reportedly voted unanimously to approve moving forward with the investigation to consider whether or not the organization, under Warnock’s leadership, failed to adhere to state deadlines. The Election Board voted 3-0, with one Democrat member abstaining from the vote, to case to the Georgia Attorney General’s Office. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger also abstained from the vote.

Forbes also called the investigation the “latest legal step in the ongoing feud between the progressive Abrams and the state’s Republican election officials.”

The New Georgia Project is no stranger to investigation, however. The group has been the subject of a number of investigations over the years, including probes as recently as 2020 and others dating back to 2014.

  1. Aliya Bhatia a progressive voting rights activist COO of Vote-ER jumped the line to get the covid vaccine. This, while eligible and vulnerable people are unable to get the vaccine after trying for a full month after their eligibility date. Now she’s acting ashamed but bragging at the same time and it’s obvious that her family members did the same. She says, “feels like a good theme for me to work on during Black History Month.” She talks in one quote about hoping for a “blue wave” in GA. With her ethics, voter fraud participation can’t be far behind.
