Bulloch Blues marches at Disney; Student musicians from three high schools invited to prestigious parade

The Bulloch Blues Marching Band performed at Disney World this weekend as the theme park continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary through March 31.

Coordinated by the Disney Imagination Campus, the musicians were treated as honorary Disney cast members for the day. They were invited to perform during Disney World’s prestigious Marching Down Magic Kingdom Parade on Saturday, March 18. Set in the evening, the 6 p.m. parade is one of the most iconic parades along the venue’s famed Main Street.

The Bulloch Blues Marching Band is a musical collaboration. It is made up of 128 student musicians and band directors from Portal Middle High School, Southeast Bulloch High School, and Statesboro High School. This is the group’s first performance at Disney. The group was also able to explore EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios during their trip.

Bulloch County Schools’ marching and symphonic bands are under the direction of Matt Olsen (SEBHS), Lee Collins and Sergio Arreguin (SHS), and John Gleissner (PMHS).
