Mrs. Brittainee Brown Collins
Mrs. Brittainee Michelle Brown-Collins, age 32, entered into eternal rest, Monday, March 13, 2021 at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She received her formal education in the public schools of Clayton County and was a graduate of Mundy’s Mill High School class of 2007.
Brittainee Brown-Collins attended Georgia Southern University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry and also received a Master’s in Public Administration.
Britainee had a passion for caring for children. She expressed her love for children in various settings such as, church and her owning her own in home daycare, Sunshine Daycare.
Brittainee was a devoted member of the Spirit and Truth Worship Center, where she served in various roles and capacities. Her most recent role was Church Administrator and Youth Department Leader. She also served as the assistant treasurer for Restoring the Breach Inc.
She leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by: her devoted husband, Franklin M. Collins, her children, Caleb and Nehemiah Collins; her mother, Kim Jones, her father, Sammy (Anita) Brown, brothers, Jeremy Brown and Dugan Brown; paternal grandparents, Sammy and Martha Brown Sr., her maternal grandparents, Alice and Rufus Jones Sr.; aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
Brittainee’s preferred colors are purple and red.

Mr. Paul Edward Stapleton
Paul Edward Stapleton, 56, of Statesboro, passed away on March 14, 2021 in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be held at a private cemetery in the near future.
Paul was born in Savannah Ga to Paul Stapleton and Lois English on November 12, 1964. He went to school in Effingham. He married the love of his life Amy Durden on June 30,2001. He worked as a Boiler Maker most of his life. Paul loved his family and fishing.
Paul is preceded in death by his father Paul Stapleton his mother Lois English. Grandmothers: Doris Mosley, Lois Collum, Aunt Janet Jerald and Uncle Richard Stapleton.
Paul is survived by his Dedicated and loving wife: Amy Stapleton. Children: Paul (Piggy) Stapleton (Micha), Kimberly Wilson (David), Thomas Durden. Siblings: Brother Michael Stapleton (Rhonda), Sister Patricia Stapleton Lynch (Charles) Kristin Rigdon, Lindsay English, Harrison English, Fred and Chris English: Grandchildren Marshall, Jeramiah, Lawrence, Mason, Anslee, and Willow. Lots of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, also he has lots of Aunts and Uncles as well as cousins. He was love by so many people.

Mr. James William Oliver
Mr. James William Oliver, Sr. “Jimmy”, age 79, died Sunday at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Millen, Georgia and was raised on the family farm in Screven County and graduated from Screven County High School in 1960. Jimmy was co-owner of Hagan and Oliver Sheetmetal from 1968 until 2013. He was currently the owner of Oliver Air Systems which started in 2013.
He enjoyed many years of coaching church and city league softball and basketball. His pride and joy was his family – especially his grandchildren, that he cheered on through all of their activities when his health allowed. Jimmy took great pride in his work and was known as an honest, hardworking man that was respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his constant companion, his dog, Pug.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe T. Oliver and Ollie Mae Oliver and a sister, Dollie Mae Oliver.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Frances Bragg Oliver of Statesboro; a son and daughter-in-law, James Oliver, Jr. and Cindy Snyder Oliver of Statesboro; a daughter, Susie Oliver of Statesboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe Brantley Oliver and Dorothy Oliver of Rincon and Tony and Wonnie Oliver of Wrightsville; his grandchildren, Lathan Lucas, Ally Oliver, Tres Oliver, Taff Oliver and Matt Diefenbach all of Statesboro and Megan Diefenbach of Little Rock, AR. Several nieces and nephews also survive
Pallbearers will be Lathan Lucas, Tres Oliver, Taff Oliver, Matthew Diefenbach, Michael Todd and Frankie Kennedy. Honorary Pallbearers will be past and present employees of Hagan and Oliver Sheetmetal and Oliver Air Systems. Mrs. Viola English Sanders, age 68, died Monday, March 15, 2021 at home, under the care of
Ogeechee Area Hospice, surrounded by her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Becky S. Davis and granddaughter, Sydney Davis of Statesboro.

Thomas “Tommy” Hubbard
homas “Tommy” Lee Hubbard, 64, died March 15th, 2021, at his home in Statesboro, GA, after a short illness.
Tommy was born October 18th, 1956, in Richmond, Virginia to the late William Aubrey Hubbard and Margarett Hall Hubbard.
Tommy worked as a mechanic for Yancey CAT in Pooler, Georgia. He enjoyed spending his time being on the water fishing, shrimping, and crabbing. Tommy also enjoyed auto racing as well.
Tommy is survived by his mother; his brother James Hubbard and wife Sandra of Hardeeville, South Carolina; his brother, Donald Hubbard of Hardeeville South Carolina; his sister, Rebecca Hubbard of Las Vegas, Nevada; three nephews JD, DJ, and TJ; two nieces, Jesse and Semera; and seven great-nephews and nieces.
A memorial will be held at a date to be determined.
Mr. Ronald Wayne “Ronnie” Oglesby
Mr. Ronald Wayne ‘Ronnie’ Oglesby, age 60, died on Tuesday March 16, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County attended Statesboro High School. Ronnie worked in construction for most of his life with different contractors and worked the last two years in the aviation industry creating interiors for private jets. He loved to travel and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Leveter Oglesby; a brother Winder Oglesby and a brother-in-law Mike Brown.
Surviving are his two sons Ronald ‘Buddy’ (Sarah) Oglesby and Sammy Oglesby (Marissa Milton) all of Statesboro; four brothers Charles (Nora) Oglesby of Sylvania, Greg (Beth) Oglesby, Mike (Cindy) Oglesby all of Statesboro and Daryl Oglesby of Orlando, FL; two sisters Sheryl (Harry) Hagan and Sonia Brown all of Statesboro; a sister-in-law Nancy Oglesby of Statesboro; a special nephew Matt Rowe (Christina) and his children Finn Rowe and Henry Rowe; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Linda Irelan Jones
Linda Irelan Jones, age 55, of Statesboro, Georgia, crossed over on March 16th, 2021. A graduate of Jenkins High School, class of ‘83, Linda married her loving husband, John Jones, on October 20, 1984. They lived in Savannah and raised their two children, Wesley and Anna, before moving to Statesboro, Georgia in 2003.
Linda loved her home and she loved her family; she hosted amazing backyard birthday parties for her children and was the anchor for bringing friends and family together. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife and mother. She took interest in interior design, enjoyed riding bikes, loved trips to the beach and rides in the country. She adored the color blue. Linda’s faith was a constant thread throughout her life. While living in Savannah, she was a member of Radiant Life. She became a member of Crossroads Community Church after moving to Statesboro, Georgia.
Linda’s early career included bookkeeping and retail all while being a mother, daughter and sister. She later worked at the Bulloch County magistrate court as a clerk from 2008-2018. Linda then combined her love of people and bringing others together as a wedding planner. She planned her son Wesley’s wedding and helped others usher and organize weddings for their friends and family. Planning weddings led her to her true passion of designing floral arrangements. She started her own floral design business, Irelan Designs in 2018 and was happiest while making beautiful, handcrafted silk arrangements for clients.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, John Ray Jones, of Statesboro, Georgia; her son, Daniel Wesley Jones (Lois), of Brooklyn, New York; her daughter, Anna Marie Jones, of Statesboro, Georgia; and her dear sister, Jimmie Gail Irelan of Longboat Key, Florida.
Mr. John George French
Mr. John George French, age 76, died Wednesday March 17, 2021, at the Gardens at Southern Manor under the care of Regency SoutherCare Hospice. The Corey, PA native was a pipe liner with Standard Oil for many years. He moved to Statesboro in 1981 and began working at the Physical Plant at Georgia Southern College, where he retired in 2004 as the Plant Superintendent. Following his retirement, John enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He had been a resident of the Gardens at Southern Manor since December of 2020. The family would like to thank the staff of the Gardens for their extraordinary love and care while John was a resident.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rosalie French; a son, Jason French and a brother and sister.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Flavia and Sterling Starling and Olivia and Eric Estrada all of Statesboro and Rochelle French of Erie, PA; a son, Trevor French of Erie, PA; several grandchildren, locally including Ethan Blair and Anderson Starling and Natalie, Alyssa and Kinsley Estrada all of Statesboro and his longtime companion, Anita Clothier of Statesboro.

Alma Lee Hendrix Parrish
Alma Lee (Hendrix) Parrish, born September 12, 1926, passed away on March 18, 2021. Her parents George Waters and Agnes Usher predeceased her. She was married to R. Thomas Hendrix who died in 1968. In 1986 Alma married Alphonso Parrish. Al passed away in 2008.
She worked with Belk Department Store in Statesboro for many years, retiring as a merchandise buyer.
Alma’s primary interests were centered around her family and a very close group of friends. She was happiest when traveling with her husband Al or on beach trips with her friends and/or family. For the past year, she was cared for by Hilda, Lynn, Patrica, Lana, Pam and Lydia. All of these ladies were more like family than caregivers and Alma loved each of them dearly.
Alma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Gail & Tom Crowley of Albany, Ga.; her sons and daughter-in-laws Troy A. & Margaret Hendrix of Statesboro, Ga; Ricky and Monna Hendrix of Satsuma, Ala; Ronny & Jackie Hendrix of Myrtle Beach, SC; her stepson and his wife, James & Melissa Parrish of Bluffton, SC. She is survived by eight (8) grandchildren and eight (8) great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jewel Edith Stewart Waters Akins
Mrs. Jewel Edith Stewart Waters Akins, age 91, died Thursday evening at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility in Statesboro. The Bulloch County native was a graduate of Portal High School. She was the daughter of the late Johnny and Flossie Motes Stewart of Hopeulikit, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bruce Allen Waters, who was the father of her four oldest children. He was killed in a tragic auto accident in 1959, when the youngest was just three days old. In 1962, she married Joe Akins and they made their home in the Arcola Community of Bulloch County and together they had one child. Joe preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a member of Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, J.T. Stewart, Inman Stewart, Talmadge Stewart and her sisters, Alberta Williams and Gladys Williams.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Wanda Sue Waters, Dianne Smith, Kenny Waters (Lisa) all of the Arcola Community; Kathy Waters (Steve) of Nevils and Missy A. Shuman (Bruce) of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Pat Stewart of Hopeulikit and Sara Waters of the Middleground Community; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services and burial will be Sunday at 3:00pm at Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Scott Waters and Elder Dean Robbins officiating. Mr. Paul “Junior Boy” Allen
Mr. Paul “Junior Boy” Allen, age 82, of Statesboro, passed away on Friday afternoon, March 19, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a Bulloch county native and a member of the Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He retired from the former Barnes-Hodges Home as a grave maintenance worker.
He is survived by his daughters; Jacquelyn (Tronny) Allen-Goodman of Brooklet, Ga., Barbara (James) Blount of Savannah, Ga., Betty Allen-Cooper of Atlanta, Ga., Angelia (Willie) Allen-Moore of Nevils, Ga., Jeannine (Joseph) Kent of Springfield, Ga. and Felicia (Anthony) Allen-Cox of Statesboro, Ga.; his sons, Ronnie (Symenthia) Allen of Statesboro, Ga., Paul Allen Jr. of Rocky Ford, Ga., Larry Henry (Debra) Allen of Savannah, Ga. and Randy Crawford of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Loretta (Rita) Mae Wiggins
Mrs. Loretta (Rita) Mae Wiggins, age 86, died Friday, March 19, 2021 at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice Care and surrounded by her family.
Rita was born in St Mary’s Georgia October 22, 1934 but resided in Savannah, GA for most of her childhood and young adult life. She moved to Statesboro, GA with her husband and children in 1968, to be near her family. She worked at Blackstone for many years in addition to being a housewife and caretaker. She loved cooking Sunday dinner for her family and was known for her southern hospitality. She enjoyed crocheting, visiting with her friends and family and never met a stranger. She was a member of Statesboro Bible Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Bertha Smith; her husband, William C Wiggins; her brothers Herman and Charles Smith, her sister and brother-in-law Faye and Wallace Wiggins. Surviving are her children Dennis (Phyllis) Wiggins; Richard (Pamela) Wiggins; Christopher (Teresa) Wiggins and Suzette Fitzgerald, sister-in-law Barbara Smith Altman; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 21, 2021, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. Graveside services and burial will be Monday at 11:00am at Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Greg Ely officiating.

Mrs. Marion Cameron Creasy
Mrs. Marion Cameron Creasy, age 94, died on Friday March 19, 2021 under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice surrounded by her family.
A native of Evans County, she was the oldest of three girls and was a graduate of Collins High School. Mrs. Creasy married J.T. Creasy, Jr. and moved to Bulloch County in 1946. She obtained her Master of Cosmetology degree in 1969 and was the owner and operator of Marion’s Beauty Shop until 2014. She was also employed with High Hope Center for over 19 years as a teacher’s aide. She loved crocheting, the outdoors, gardening, and making her favorite recipes for chewy cakes and pecan pies faithfully for over 17 years for the Bulloch County 4H fair booth. Mrs. Marion was the oldest member of Nevils United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending church functions and was a member of the Keebler Harville Sunday School Class. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ruby W. Cameron, her husband J.T. Creasy, Jr, two sisters Shirley West and Evelyn Gordon.
Surviving are her two children Susann C. and Jerry Colson of Statesboro and Noel and Tammy T. Creasy of Nevils; three grandchildren Lindsey (Jay) Creamer of Waxahachie, Texas, Rebecca Creasy of College Station, Texas and Jarrod (Becca) Creasy of Nevils; four great grandchildren Grady Creamer, Graham Creamer, Gage Creamer and Finley Creasy; special friends Arletta Iler and Mary Miller;
A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Nevils United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Shuman, Raymond Waters, Phil Denmark, Kevin Creasy, Scott Haddon and Estevon Nava. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Carol Crawford Sunday School Class.
