Get your dancing shoes and lawn chair ready for the City of Statesboro’s last “Downtown Live” concert of the summer featuring Liquid Pleasure! The free concert will be held on Thursday, July 20 on East Main Street in front of the Bulloch County Courthouse. The concert will start at 7:00 p.m., an hour later than previous concerts, due to a heat advisory expected to last through the end of the week.
The City of Statesboro’s inaugural Downtown Live summer concert series has drawn thousands to Downtown Statesboro during June and July to enjoy good music, food, and drinks.
“Downtown Live has been a huge success,” says event organizer Olympia Gaines who works as an Assistant to the City Manager of Statesboro. “We’ve received great reviews from our residents and event visitors who hope to see us add additional concert dates for next year. We’re operating under a bit of a learning curve during this first year, but we’re planning to make Downtown Live even bigger and better in years to come.”
Downtown Live will cap the 2023 series with Liquid Pleasure on July 20. Liquid Pleasure has brought audiences to their feet for over five decades. With crowd-pleasing covers of modern groups like The Black Eyed Peas and Outkast to Motown staples like The Temptations and The Supremes, there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy.
Admission to the concerts is free. Food trucks and beverage vendors will open at 6:00 p.m. on the day of the event, with several downtown restaurants also within walking distance of the concert stage. Downtown Live is a family-friendly event for all ages. For more information, visit www.statesboroga.gov/downtownlive.
