Early voting begins Monday for the runoff election on June 18th. In Bulloch County, just one race will appear on the ballot.
In the Republican primary race for Bulloch County Commission in District 2C, Nick Newkirk and Jappy Stringer edged out Brian Pfund back on May 21st. Newkirk garnered 46.98% of the vote (3,166), Stringer took 40.17% (2,797) of the vote, and Pfund garnered 12.85% (866).
With neither Newkirk nor Stringer reaching 50% + 1 vote, a runoff election is necessary under Georgia law.
The two will appear on the June 18th ballot, but early voting is also available June 10-14 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bulloch County Annex.
Only voters who cast a ballot in the Republican primary on May 21st OR voters who voted Nonpartisan on May 21st and are registered in County Commission District 2 can vote in the runoff election on June 18th. Democrat voters are ineligible for casting a ballot in the Republican primary runoff.
The winner of the June 18th election will go on to face Democrat Len Fatica in November.
