MON – 3:30 PM: Some Impacts Expected in Southeast Georgia with Hurricane Milton

From the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency on Monday afternoon:

Hurricane Milton has intensified to a Category 5 hurricane. While it is expected to lose strength before reaching land, its wind field will expand, leading to impacts in South Georgia. Starting Wednesday afternoon and lasting through Thursday morning, there is a chance of heavy rain bands and gusty winds in far Southeast Georgia.

Coastal areas of Georgia and certain inland counties in the far Southeast may be subject to Tropical Storm Watches and Warnings. By Thursday evening, Milton will swiftly move eastward, bringing an end to its effects on the Southeast.
