Uvalda Man Arrested for Theft of $100K in Equipment in Statesboro

Statesboro Police have arrested a man who they say stole over $100,000 in equipment.

The Statesboro Police Department arrested 44-year-old Jamie Lynn Allen of Uvalda on Wednesday.

Allen allegedly stole two skid steer machines valued at over $100,000 from a construction site on South Main Street in Statesboro.

Surveillance photos of the suspect and his vehicle had previously been released to the media in order to generate leads. Based on a multitude of tips and follow up investigation by detectives, Allen was taken into custody on two counts of Theft by Taking- Motor Vehicle.

Allen was returned to the Bulloch County Jail where he remains pending further judicial action.

SPD said Thursday that the investigation continues and additional charges, in addition to additional arrests, are possible.
