Arrest made in motorcycle crash that killed Georgia Southern ROTC instructor

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit has made an arrest in connection with a deadly motorcycle crash that killed a Georgia Southern University ROTC instructor.

21-year-old Jadon Mike of Brooklet was arrested Thursday after a months long investigation. Mike was charged with Homicide by Vehicle 1st degree, Drive Under the Influence (drugs), and Failure to Yield.

Mike was involved in the crash that killed Georgia Southern University ROTC instructor Christopher Decker, who was riding his motorcycle, at the intersection of GA Highway 21 and West First Street (in front of the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office) on March 7, 2024.
