ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments reappointed State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro) as Chairman of the House Rules Committee and the Special Committee on Healthcare.

Parrish. “As Rules Chairman, I will continue to champion policies that will make a meaningful impact on my constituents and the citizens of Georgia in every corner of our great state.”
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns (R-Newington), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.Â
The House Rules Committee oversees the flow of legislation from passage in committee and makes the determination of what bills should be debated and voted on the House floor.
The House Special Committee on Healthcare will oversee and coordinate the House’s work on health policy – both legislative and budgetary.

Representative Butch Parrish represents the citizens of District 158, which includes Candler, Emanuel and Treutlen counties, as well as a portion of Bulloch County. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1984 and currently serves as Chairman of the Rules Committee and the Special Committee on Healthcare. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health, Banks & Banking, Economic Development & Tourism, Health, Human Relations & Aging and Public & Community Health committees.
