50+ Employers Set to Attend Upcoming Job Fair

More than 50 employers are scheduled to attend an upcoming job fair in Vidalia.

The Employment Fair will be hosted at Southeastern Technical College’s Vidalia Campus on Wednesday, June 23 from 9 am-2 pm. 

Applicants and job seekers are asked to dress the part and bring copies of their resume.

Governor Kemp & GA Department of Labor Commissioner Butler recently announced GA’s plan for reemployment & economic recovery. To address workforce shortages & boost a full economic recovery, state labor officials plan to end GA’s participation in federal pandemic unemployment programs, effective Saturday, June 26. 

Georgia will no longer participate in the following federal programs:

  • Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation
  • Pandemic Unemployment Assistance
  • Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation
  • Mixed Earner Unemployment Compensation 

Once Georgia opts out of the federal programs, the GA Department of Labor will continue offering regular state unemployment insurance benefits to eligible Georgians. The maximum weekly benefit in the state is $365.
