15th Annual Statesboro Turkey Trot to Benefit Teachers, Students Set for Nov. 19

The Bulloch County Foundation for Public Education will host its 15th Annual Statesboro 5K Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 19, in downtown Statesboro, to provide grants for classroom teachers’ innovative projects and college scholarships for the school district’s REACH Georgia scholars.

Participants can pre-register online at runsignup.com or on the Statesboro 5K Turkey Trot website. Race day registration will begin at 8 a.m. on the Bulloch County Courthouse Square.

The festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. with a 100-yard dash with local business mascots. Next, children 12 years of age and younger can register for the fun run, and the main 5K event for all ages begins at 9 a.m. in front of City Hall. An awards ceremony for top finishers from each of the age divisions is at 11 a.m. at the Courthouse Square.

  • 8:30 a.m. Mascot Run – Free
  • 8:45 a.m. 12 & Under Fun Run – $15
  • 9:00 a.m. 5K Turkey Trot – $30 or $25 per person for teams of five or more
  • 11:00 a.m. Awards presentations

All registered participants receive a gift bag. The first 300 registered participants receive a t-shirt. Pre-register by Nov. 4 to guarantee your preferred size. Participants are encouraged to wear team-themed t-shirts and Thanksgiving costumes. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Contact 912.212.8530

Set in the heart of downtown Statesboro’s historic retail and residential neighborhoods, it’s fun for the whole family. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Wagons, strollers and even family-friendly canines on leashes are welcome. Walk as an individual or form a team.
