Fox Recognized as One of TCSG’s 23 Alumni of the Year

This week, the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG)  celebrated the 23 recipients as Alumni of the Year from its 22 colleges. The award honors exceptional alumni who have made significant contributions in their fields, demonstrated leadership in their communities, and serve as ambassadors of technical education in Georgia.

Among those was Ogeechee Technical College alum Sean Fox.

The announcement took place at the 2024 Fall Leadership Conference in Savannah, where leaders from Georgia’s 22 technical colleges gathered to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of TCSG alumni. This annual recognition underscores the role that TCSG plays in equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s dynamic workforce.

Fox, a graduate of the Construction Management program at Ogeechee Technical College (OTC) and Founder of Pioneer Design and Marketing, said in May when he was named Ogeechee Tech’s outstanding alumni:

“I’m really proud of OTC and how it has grown over the last 20 years,” said Fox. “The skills I picked up in the Construction Management program have carried over into my design and marketing career, especially in regards to leading projects and people. I am incredibly humbled to be named this year’s recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award and I look forward to our continued partnership.”

Fox attended Ogeechee Technical College to pursue an associate degree in Construction Management. After some time in this field, he pivoted and earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing where he found his true passion.

Fox served for nearly a decade as a designer and creative pastor for Connection Church leading him to form Pioneer Design and Marketing in 2018. As a design and performance marketing studio helping brands stake their claim in a crowded marketplaces, Pioneer Design and Marketing has helped develop many local and regional brands like Bull and Barrel Steakhouse, The Sack Company, Expercare, and more.

His nominator wrote, “Sean is actively involved in our community. He is a husband, dad to 3, coach and wears many other titles, but somehow still manages to find time to give back to others and his community. Through his generosity and gift of time, he develops and expands other businesses to try to help them meet their full potential.”

In 2020, Fox expanded his business by acting as the digital director for TinyWins, working with a distributed team across the United Stated building websites and apps for startups and Fortune 500 companies like VaynerMedia, Samsung, Slack, and Salesforce. Pioneer was also the 2023 recipient of the Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber Small Business of the Year award.

“We are honored to celebrate the achievements of these 23 outstanding alumni,” said TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier. “Their success stories illustrate the transformative impact of technical education in Georgia. These individuals not only exemplify the dedication and skill needed in today’s workforce, but also inspire others to pursue opportunities that lead to rewarding careers. Their accomplishments reflect the critical role our colleges play in developing a highly trained and adaptable workforce that drives Georgia’s economy forward.”

The 2024 Alumni of the Year recipients come from diverse fields including healthcare, manufacturing, aviation, business, and information technology. Each has leveraged their education and hands-on training from a TCSG college to make meaningful contributions in their respective industries.
