Sasser Appointed to Serve on KSBB Board

Keep Statesboro-Bulloch County Beautiful recently welcomed another new advisory board member!

KSBB has a volunteer advisory board that is appointed by City Council every two years. There are currently six advisory board members for KSBB.

Dr. Alissa Sasser, a School Improvement Director with the Bulloch County School District, was recently appointed to serve.

She is originally from upstate New York and moved to Mt. Vernon in 1996 to pursue her Bachelor Degree in Middle Grades Education from Brewton-Parker College. In 2018, Dr. Sasser obtained her Doctoral degree from Georgia Southern University.

During her 21 year tenure in public education, she has served students as a teacher, cheerleading coach, as well as a school and district administrator.

Since moving to Statesboro in 2011, Dr. Sasser has been an avid supporter of the revitalization of the downtown area. Serving on this committee would allow her to utilize her versatile skill sets to collaborate with others for the purpose of supporting community beautification efforts, with the hopes of attracting more businesses and revenue to the city of Statesboro.

As a passionate advocate of equity of both service and employment, Dr. Sasser is committed to supporting this committee’s efforts to enhance the physical and economic development of Statesboro in order to provide equitable access to entertainment, economic opportunities and other necessary services for our citizens, particularly in the downtown area.

Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful (KSBB) is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation.
