Statesboro Family YMCA Announces 2022 Run the Boro’ 5k Run/Walk

The Statesboro Family YMCA invites the public to participate in its annual Run the Boro 5k Run/Walk, taking place January 29, 2022, after taking a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To kick off the new year, the Statesboro Family YMCA invites people from all over the region for the eighth annual event.

Through January 5, the entry fee to run/walk the course is $25. Between January 6 and race day the price increases to $30 and to $40 at the event. A t-shirt is included in the race entry fee. Organizers at the Statesboro Family YMCA have set an event goal to raise over $10,000 dollars for their annual campaign through participants, donors, and sponsors to be used to fund the 2022 program year.

Your gift to the Statesboro Family YMCA makes it possible for everyone in the community to experience the Y. From safe spaces to academic achievement to family well-being and more, when you give to the Y, you’re giving those in need the opportunity to thrive. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to helping children and families in need and building a stronger community!

The race will begin at the YMCA in Statesboro at 9 a.m., then runners will make their way through Statesboro to the McTell Trail then back to the YMCA to cross the finish line. Vendors and refreshments will be available at the finish line. After the last racer crosses the line, top finishers in each age group will receive awards.

Come and enjoy the fresh air, atmosphere, and the company of other runners/walkers. The Y is looking forward to seeing all participants and members that want to come and support the Y’s fundraiser by getting your workout in!
