Statesboro Pastor Gives Flag from 50 Mile Honorary Trek to Regional GBI Office

The local pastor who walked fifty miles to honor law enforcement during National Police Week presented the flag to the regional office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Pastor John Long recently presented the flag to the the GBI Region 5 Office staff at Connection Church in Statesboro at the conclusion of his annual walk “50 for the 5-0.”

Even though the walk is complete, you can still donate to Long’s cause in this link.

Long kicked off his 20-hour walk on Friday, May 14 and walked the fifty miles into Saturday May 15.

2021 marks the fifth year Long has completed the walk in honor of law enforcement, but this first year he had someone walking alongside him for the duration. Todd Olsen from Georgia Southern Police completed the full 50-mile trek with Long as well after Long walked in 2020 in honor of a GSU PD officer killed in an accident.
