Man Arrested for $70,000 Worth of Fentanyl in Statesboro Hotel

A man is behind bars after he was discovered to have fentanyl with a street value of upwards of $70,000 in a Statesboro hotel.

According to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, the Crime Suppression Team made the arrest last Thursday. 

Investigators executed a search warrant in Room 19 of the Stiles Inn in Statesboro, GA. The hotel is I the city limits on Main Street.

Investigators, along with the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit arrested Erick Collins of Statesboro, GA on outstanding warrants from Bulloch and Screven County.  

During Collins arrest, approximately 242 grams of compressed Fentanyl were recovered with a potential street value of $70,000.  

Collins is currently being housed in the Bulloch County Jail on charges of Trafficking Fentanyl along with a Grand Jury Bench Warrant for Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony.

Sheriff Brown said in a news release that he would like to encourage citizens to contact the Crime Suppression Team with any complaints of drug activity that you may suspect. All complaints will remain anonymous and will be investigated thoroughly.
