Man Charged After Ramming Vehicle, Setting Fire to Home

Deputies with the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on T.R. Smith Road with regard a 911 call of a person ramming the residence with a vehicle. At 8:30 p.m. on February 13, Deputy Rhett Kelley responded and located the offender, later identified as Christopher Harper, had pulled a vehicle into the garage and set it on fire.

Deputy Kelley immediately notified dispatch of a structure fire and began evacuating the residents. Sgt. Jeff White arrived at the scene to assist and deputies realized the offender was lying near the fire and were able to drag him to safety. The offender was taken into custody.

Preliminary investigation has indicated that the offender, CHRISTOPHER HARPER, was currently living at the incident location and was in a relationship with one of the victims.

Sheriff Noel Brown commended the deputies involved for their quick response and the decisive action they took to make sure the residence was evacuated and to locate and arrest the offender.

This case is currently under active investigation. Anyone with additional information should call Investigator Pre Cone.
