Statesboro Fire Says They’re Working to Determine Cause of Saucy Shrimp Fire

The Statesboro Fire Department received a dispatch at 2:28 am this morning to the Saucy Shrimp restaurant located at 12218 Highway 301 South for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighting crews observed heavy smoke emanating from the building. Upon entry to the building, firefighters encountered intense fire conditions in the main dining area with heavy smoke throughout the structure.

“While our personnel effectively contained the majority of the fire to the front part of the structure, extensive smoke and heat damage were sustained throughout the building” according to Fire Chief Tim Grams.

The Statesboro Fire Department is currently working to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Bulloch County Fire Department also responded as part of the Automatic Aid Agreement between the two agencies and assisted with fire ground operations.
