Uptick in Firearms Stolen from Vehicles in Bulloch County

A number of firearms have been reported stolen after a slew of entering auto cases in recent days.

That information comes from public incident reports published by the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office. The records indicate that at least three incidents occurred in the last two days.

  • November 27, 2023 – Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Gabbies Run in response to an Entering Auto call, which also revealed a stolen firearm.
  • November 27, 2023 – Deputies responded to an Entering Auto call on Talons Lake Drive in Statesboro, which also resulted in the theft of a firearm.
  • November 28, 2023 – Deputies responded to Thomkin Drive in response to an Entering Auto and a stolen firearm.

Records also indicate a burglary on Burkhalter Road on November 19 which resulted in a firearm being stolen from a residence.

Law enforcement officials encourage individuals to lock their vehicles and avoid leaving unsecured firearms in a vehicle, irrespective of whether or not the vehicle is locked.
