Bulloch’s Title I schools to host Family Forums

Bulloch County Schools Logo

Bulloch County Schools’ 13 Title I schools will host Family Forums on Aug. 8 – 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., at each school on its designated date. Guests may arrive by 5:15 p.m. to register for door prizes, and sessions begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. Childcare is available if needed.

Families are invited to participate in their school’s Title I Annual Meeting and then choose rotating break out sessions about school attendance, literacy and reading, how to sign up and use the Campus Parent Portal, and Internet safety. Plus visit classrooms to learn more about student expectations, curriculum, testing, communications and resources to help your child succeed.

Meet your school’s family engagement specialist. The school district employs a team of seven specialists to help connect parents and students to their schools and resources.

Title I is a federally funded program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. It is the largest federally funded program for elementary, middle, and high schools.

Through Title I, money is given to school districts around the country based on the number of low-income families in each district. All schools in the Bulloch County School System are Title I schools except Statesboro High School and Southeast Bulloch High School. Title I funds are used to provide  extra educational services for children most in need of educational help.
