Bulloch’s Title I schools to host Parent Nights

Bulloch County’s 13 Title I schools will host Parent Nights Aug. 12 through Sept. 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., on the scheduled nights.

Families are asked to arrive by 5:15 to sign in. Translation services will be available if needed.

The events will feature a brief Title I Annual Meeting. Families will then attend breakout sessions about school attendance, the importance of literacy and building literacy skills, testing, and more. This is another time for parents to visit classrooms, speak with teachers, and learn more about expectations for students. There will also be information about curriculum, available communication tools, and learning resources to help your child thrive. When you are engaged with your child’s school, your child is more engaged in learning and will be more successful as a result.

Title I, the largest federally funded program for K-12 schools, supports districts based on the number of students who are economically disadvantaged. All Bulloch County schools, except Statesboro High School and Southeast Bulloch High School, benefit from Title I funds to provide extra educational services for those in need. Bulloch County Schools’ Federal Programs Department employs a team of parent and family engagement specialists who help plan programs such as these, connect families to resources, and serve as a liaison between families and their child’s school to improve engagement.
