F1RST Friday: Discover Statesboro’s Downtown Arts

The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority  along with downtown businesses and regional artists host Downtown Arts on Friday April 5th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 pm.

Several of the favorite downtown businesses will be open late next Friday as they are paired with a local artist. This is an exciting opportunity to buy local, discover the arts, and build the Statesboro community.

The different displays of art encompass diverse media such as paintings, ceramics, jewelry, drawings, decorative arts, photography, and installation. Everyone can visit their favorite shops while browsing a variety of artwork from talented artists. A guide will be available to show where the participating shops are located.

This year’s art showcase includes a menagerie of work from Crystal Holman, Heather Gonzales, Julianna Leverette, Brendan Cave, Michelle Tann, Penny Marz, Sally Minton, Jessica Blanton, Jasmine Leach, Lois Harvey, Margo McCoy, Cameron Harrison, and Georgia Southern University students. At 58 E. Main St., come see what the Statesboro Regional Art Association is exhibiting in the BIG alley.

“This is a great way to highlight these amazing artists, and also show off our downtown businesses,” said Allen Muldrew, Executive Director of Downtown Statesboro Development Authority.

DJ Randy will provide lively music at the courthouse. Vendors and food trucks will also be located near the courthouse for additional shopping. Fix-it-Fridays will have a DIY wind chime booth also in the BIG alley from 6-8 p.m. Prior registration is required.
