Georgia Southern to host 2023 USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals

WHAT:

Georgia Southern University’s Shooting Sports Education Center (SSEC) was competitively selected to host the 2023 USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals, May 18 – 21 at M.C. Anderson Park in Statesboro, Georgia. This event will bring nearly 450 of the top collegiate archers from across the country to Georgia Southern to showcase their skills.

The Nationals features competition across the recurve, compound, barebow and fixed pins divisions. The event includes individual qualification round and elimination matches alongside the popular – and spirited – mixed team and team events. The championship event highlights USA Archery’s grassroots initiatives to grow the sport and develop competitive archers.

The top collegiate archers in the nation will be presented medals in all events. USA Archery will also present the prestigious National Team Championship, All-American Team, All-Around Archer of the Year and Coach of the Year awards.

“The Shooting Sports Education Center (SSEC) at Georgia Southern University is honored to serve as host to the country’s elite collegiate archers and their supporters during the 2023 USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals,” said Matt Horst, SSEC director. “As one of the premier hubs in southeast Georgia for the continued development of the shooting sports for all ages, hosting this event allows us to introduce more people to our unique facility and further our goal of being an educational resource for the region, state and now, country. We look forward to working with our committed partners and community members to welcome USA Archery and its competitors.”

8 a.m. – Official practice and Individual Elimination Round (thru bronze medal)
2:30 p.m. – Official Team Round
6:45 – 8 p.m. – Awards Ceremony

Sunday, May 21, 2023

8 – 10:40 a.m. – Gold Medal Finals
11:30 a.m. – Mixed Team Round
2 p.m. – Mixed Team Gold Medal Finals
