Senate Study Committee on the Preservation of Georgia’s Farmlands to Hold Third Meeting

Through UGA's new Value-Addition Institute for Business Expansion, food processing specialist Kaitlyn Casulli is working with food engineer Kevin Mis Solval and food safety specialist Carla Schwan to provide resources for farmers to move from fresh packing to value-added processing, opening up value-added markets to rural parts of Georgia.

On Wednesday, September 25, at 10:00 a.m., the Senate Study Committee on the Preservation of Georgia’s Farmlands, chaired by Sen. Billy Hickman (R–Statesboro), will hold its third meeting at the Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition.

The committee is tasked with studying the conditions, needs, issues, and problems related to the preservation of Georgia’s farmlands and recommending any action or legislation.
