The City of Statesboro Business Commission will host a “Beans & Business” forum on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cool Beanz Espresso Bar, located at 19 South Main Street, Statesboro.
The business forum will provide local small business owners and entrepreneurs the opportunity to ask city staff questions about compliance and regulations related to operating a business within the municipal limits. Additionally, it will serve as a platform for business owners to exchange information and collaborate on resources.
“We believe this event will provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with the opportunity to become familiar with city departments and processes,” says Tom McKeithen, chair of the Statesboro Business Commission and local business owner. “Additionally, it offers a chance for these individuals to strengthen their local network, gaining advice and support when needed. We encourage attendance from anyone who owns or is considering starting a small business in Statesboro, as well as any vendors who cater to small businesses.”
Through the sharing of knowledge and experiences, the Statesboro Business Commission hopes to partner with other small business owners and entrepreneurs to identify the impact of government policy procedures on business opportunities and operations within the city limits.
Formed in November 2022, the Statesboro Business Commission consists of nine local business owners appointed by the Mayor and City Council who serve staggered two-year terms.
The event is free and open to the public. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to pre-register at https://SBCBeansandBusinessEvent.eventbrite.com.
