The Bulloch County Board of Education gave tentative approval to a $176.1 million combined-funds budget during its May 11 work session.

Proposed by Superintendent of Schools Charles Wilson, the Board voted 7-0 to move its 2024 Fiscal Year Budget process forward. A final vote is scheduled for June 8. If approved, the budget will go into effect on July 1, the start of the school district’s fiscal year.

The budget includes five funds: General, Special Revenue, School Nutrition, Capital Projects, and Debt Service. The General Fund, the district’s main operating portion of the overall budget, includes $140.2 million in budgeted expenditures.
