Bulloch County Schools will host a Curriculum Review Session for families of certain middle and high school students on Monday, March 22, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., in the cafeteria of the school district’s Central Office, located at 150 Williams Road, in Statesboro. Guests will enter entrance E, under the portico on the southeast side of the building.
The session is for families whose children are scheduled to be taught the district’s approved sexuality education unit beginning the week of March 29.
This will include students in grades six through nine, who are in a physical education class this semester, and who did not take the unit last fall. At Portal Middle High School, all students will receive this course.
Families whose child will be taught the unit, were sent an information packet by mail. It included a parent letter, an opt-out form and an invitation to this optional curriculum review session.
Families may also request an individual appointment with Debbie Sarratt, the director who coordinates the program, by email or at 912.218.8566.
