Fourteen county roads in Bulloch County will be repaired with LMIG and TSPLOST funds following approval by county commissioners on Tuesday.

Commissioners voted to approve a bid and enter into a contract with Ellis Wood Contracting for the repairs. This contract includes reconstruction of damaged areas of pavement that are damaged too severely to be patched by County Public Works and includes asphalt removal and the installation of new base and pavement in these areas.

The project list includes areas on:

  • Alderman Rd
  • Bella Terra Rd
  • Burkhalter Rd between US 80 and Five Chop Rd,
  • Burkhalter Rd between Clito Rd and Simmons Rd,
  • Clito Rd at US 301 N,
  • Old Leefield Rd,
  • Leefield Station,
  • Miller Street Ext.,
  • Mud Rd,
  • Union Church Rd,
  • Cambridge Subdivision,

Sealed bids were received on September 30, 2021. The low bidder, Ellis Wood Contracting, met all requirements of the County’s bid specifications, according to county employees. The low bid amount, which was $266,867.50, is close to the County Engineer’s estimate of $253,000, per agenda packet information Tuesday.

The County has $1,465,339.36 in LMIG funds and $1,340,000 in TSPLOST funds budgeted for Resurfacing in FY 21, for a total of $2,805,339.36, which will fund this project.

Other projects which are being funded out of this budget include:
