Bulloch Co. Board of Ed Approves 2025-26 School Calendar

Approval completes schedule for the next two years

The Board of Education has approved the 2025-2026 school calendar for Bulloch County Schools, completing the schedule for the next two school years (2024-2026).

These are key features of the calendars:

  • First Day of School: August 1 for both calendars
  • Breaks: Both years include week-long breaks in October, November, and April, plus a two-week break between the first and second semester.
  • Winter Break in February: There is a difference in the calendars’ Winter Break in February. This adjustment is not a permanent change for future years, but how the natural one to two day shifts in a calendar’s days affected the 2025-2026 school calendar. The temporary change was necessary to ensure balanced semesters and sufficient student instruction and teacher inservice days.
    • 2024-2025: A week-long break (Feb. 17-21, 2025)
    • 2025-2026: A five-day break for students that includes two weekend days (Feb. 13-17, 2026)
  • Teacher and Student Schedules:
    • Teachers: 190 work days each year, including nine pre- and post-planning days for 2024-25, and seven in the 2025-26 school year and four (2024-2025) and five (2025-2026) inservice days throughout the year.
    • Students: 177 days (2024-2025) and 178 days (2025-2026) school days.
