Bulloch County Schools to host open houses

First day of school is Aug. 1

Bulloch County Schools is kicking off the new school year by hosting open houses at each of its 15 schools and learning programs on Monday, July 29.

Elementary, middle and high schools will host open houses at their campuses on Monday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for elementary and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for middle and high schools. This is a great time to meet your teachers, pick up important information and school supply lists, find classroom(s), and more before the first day of school which is Thursday, August 1.

If your child will be in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, sixth, or ninth-grade, which are entry years, your elementary, middle, or high school may also plan a separate open house day or time for you to visit the school with just your grade level’s families. If they are, they have communicated these with registered students’ families via email, or follow their updates on their school Facebook pages. Families are welcome to attend one or both open houses.

The school district’s learning programs, the Transitions Learning Center, Lead Empower Adapt Pride & Learners Involved In Flexible Education, will also host open houses.

  • If your child attends the Transitions Learning Center (TLC) its open house is Monday, July 29, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m, at the William James Educational Complex, located at 150 Williams Road in Statesboro. Guests are asked to enter Entrance E under the portico, which is the program’s main entrance.
  • The school district’s Lead Empower Adapt Pride (LEAP) and Learners Involved in Flexible Education (LIFE) programs will also host open houses on July 29, at the William James Educational Complex, located at 150 Williams Road in Statesboro. Guests will enter Entrance G at the back of the building, which is the main entrance for the programs. LEAP will greet families from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and LIFE at 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Faculty and staff at the schools look forward to welcoming new and returning families. Open House is an opportunity for families and educators to partner and stress the importance of regular school attendance to students. Strive for five or fewer absences this school year, and be present to learn.

New Student Registration & Returning Student Updates

Online registration for new students remains open at www.bullochschools.org/registration and will remain open throughout the school year. For families who want their child to start school on Aug. 1, please complete your student’s registration by July 29, to help prevent any possible delays.

For returning students, families are asked to complete the required annual student update in your Campus Parent Portal using the mobile application or website. If you need assistance with login, check your email for a message from the school district with a helpful tutorial. Once you have access to your account, click on “More” from the left menu, then click on “Online Registration,” and follow the on-screen prompts.

If you need assistance or do not have access to the Internet, school offices are open on weekdays during regular business hours.
