Bulloch County will host a Public Information Meeting regarding the proposed pedestrian improvements for the S&S Greenway – Phase III at Brooklet Elementary School on May 13, 2021 at 6:30 pm.
The purpose of this Open House is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed trail alignment, ask questions, and comment on the project. There will be no formal presentation. Project team members will be present to discuss the project and answer questions.
The S&S Greenway – Phase III project proposes pedestrian improvements from the terminus of the existing S&S Greenway – Phase II at the Five Points Roundabout to the John Wesley Center in Brooklet.
The trail would parallel the north side of Josh Hagin Road, travel through undeveloped farmland, and parallel the south side of West Lane Street as a side-path. The proposed improvements will connect the City of Brooklet to the existing S&S Greenway establishing seven and one-quarter (7.25) miles of shared-use path connectivity between the City of Statesboro and the City of Brooklet.
The improvements will be constructed primarily within Bulloch County right-of-way; however, acquisition of some right of way and easements will be required.
