Mr. Joseph Mainer, passed into rest, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at his residence.

Loretta Eloise Roberts

Loretta Eloise Roberts, 87, of Nevils, Ga passed away Tuesday, April 27th under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was born on July 14th, 1933 in Okeechobee, Fl. to Roscoe and Cora Roberts. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as Daughters- Norma Jean Riner & Nathaleen Counts, Son- Robert Riner, Brother- Devaughan Roberts and Nephews-Craig Haygood and Leon Roberts.

She is survived by her Son- Al (Patti) Riner of Nevils Ga, Sisters- Marie Waters of Nevils Ga, Clara Nell Johnson of Savannah, Ga & Bobbie Olsson of Nevils Ga, 7 grand/greatgrandchildren including Tommy DeLoach (Phelisha) of Claxton Ga, Jessica Smith (Nick) of Savannah Ga, David Chapman (Carrie) of Savannah Ga, Anna DeLoach of Claxton Ga, Nathan DeLoach of Claxton Ga, Bailey DeLoach of Claxton Ga & Jay Smith of Savannah Ga. Also survived by several nephews- Lannie Roberts, Denny Haygood (Gail), Mike Waters, Marty Waters (Jessica) & Brian Scott (Erika) and one niece Sandi Thompson (Mike).

She was an avid gardener who previously worked at Riner’s Garden Center displaying her love of flowers. She loved her family dearly and loved to cook. She was a member of Roscoe Roberts Sunday School Class at Trinity Baptist Church and worshiped the Lord faithfully.

Pallbearers include Brian Scott, Bryson Scott, David Chapman, Denny Haygood, Lannie Roberts & Mike Waters.

The family wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to Ogeechee Area Hospice as well as Kindred Home Care (Carey).

Maude Walker Burns

Statesboro, Georgia
Maude Walker Burns, 90, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Willow Pond Senior Care.

She was born and grew up in Newington, GA. where she married Alonza Burns in 1950. They

lived on a farm in Kildare, GA for 53 years and raised a family. She moved to Statesboro in 2004, where she enjoyed being a much loved volunteer at Willow Pond Senior Care until 2017 when she decided to make Willow Pond her home.

Maudie, as she was called by people who loved her, was simple, sweet and had a smile to share with anyone. She would always be the first to laugh at some of the many funny things, of which there were many, that seemed to happen frequently in her life. She loved spending time with her family, piddling in her garden and playing cards with friends. She was an excellent seamstress and took great pleasure and pride in making quilts and beautifully stuffed bunnies dressed in antique lace for her grandchildren and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Arnold Walker and Dorothy Kennedy Walker as well as brother, Robert Arnold Walker. She is survived by her children, Andy A. and Patty Burns, Rhonda B. and Timmy Rodewolt, and Sheryl B. and Bill Smith; six grandchildren, Christopher and Dena Rodewolt, Daniel and Nicole Rodewolt, Ryan and Kelley Burns, Brantley and Nia Burns, Stacey and Kip Spence, Paul and Heather Smith; and twelve great-grandchildren.

All of her family would like to say a special “THANK YOU” to the wonderful folks who loved and cared for her during her stay at Willow Pond. She very much enjoyed the time she spent there and was very proud to call it home over the last years of her life.

There will be a graveside service and burial at 11am on Friday morning at the Newington City Cemetery with Pastor Slade Speir officiating.

Interment will be in the city cemetery.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Anna Bell Wilson Beasley

Mrs. Anna Bell Wilson Beasley, age 81, died on Thursday April 29th 2021. She was born on June 14th 1939 to the late Mr. Clinton and Mrs. Carrie Tucker. Mrs. Beasley was a graduate of Statesboro High School and worked for many years at East Georgia Regional Medical Center and also Willingway Hospital. At home she enjoyed spending time in her garden, decorating her house for the holidays, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Mr. Ernest Beasley and Mr. John “Jay” Wilson, and her sister, Carolyn Clayton.

She is survived by her three sons, Jeff Wilson (Elaine Parker), Clay Wilson, and Monty Wilson, her grandchildren, Jeff Wilson Jr. (Kasie), Clint Wilson, Cate Wilson, and Caroline Wilson, and her great-grandchildren, Naomi, Conner, Sara, Russell, James, Rylee, and Marley.
Mrs. Beasley’s wishes were to have a private service where she will be laid to rest at Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro.

Emersyn Ivy Godbee

Emersyn Ivy Godbee passed on April 30, 2021 at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

An angel from the book of life wrote down my baby’s birth. Then she closed the book and whispered, “Too beautiful for earth.” She was preceded in death by a great-grandfather, Dennis Godbee and great great-grandfather, Otis Joiner.

Survivors include her parents, Dennis William “Will”, Jr. and Reagan Hinkle Godbee of Sylvania; maternal grandmother, Joyce Hinkle of Bradenton, FL; paternal grandmother, Tammi Lewis of Alabama; Paternal grandfather, Dennis William “Dink” Godbee, Sr. of Sylvania; great-grandparents, Wilbert and Joyce Hinkle of Palmetto, FL, Kathy Godbee of Sylvania, Kathy Mincey of Beaufort, SC ; great great-grandparents, Joyce Joiner of Palmetto, FL and Roy and Ann Hinkle of Craigsville, WV; aunts and uncles, Gillian Johnson, Adison Johnson,Tatum Ross, all of Bradenton, Wyatt Godbee of Hiltonia, GA, Randy McClain of Sylvania, Destiny Godbee of Dublin, GA and Cassie Bazemore of Sylvania; a host of cousins and extended family.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00am in the Screven Chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Interment will be private.
