Raffensperger Hosts ‘MoneyTalks’ at Georgia Southern University in Savannah and Statesboro

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger hosted “Money Talks” at Georgia Southern University in Savannah and Statesboro. Raffensperger’s Financial Literacy program called “Money Talks” was held on October 16th at Georgia Southern University’s Savannah and Statesboro campuses and engaged students and citizens from the Coastal Georgia region.

This program aligns with Secretary Raffensperger’s vision of empowering Georgia’s youth with vital financial management skills and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit.

“College students can learn history and geography, but often times they aren’t learning the essentials of finance,” said Secretary Raffensperger. “We’re helping to bridge that gap and give them real world knowledge.”

The program was moderated by Atlanta radio personality Art Terrell. The panelists, Shardea Ages, CFP®, Co-Founder and Senior Wealth Advisor at Collective Wealth Partners; Sileta Bell, President of The Bell Consultants; and Ebony Francis, CEO, B.A., MBA, Accountant at AvestiCorp, lead insightful and engaging conversations on practical money skills which includes, budgeting, saving, investing, maximizing income, credit and loans, retirement planning, entrepreneurship and starting a small business.

The Secretary of State Securities Division is a leader in improving financial literacy through outreach and education. The attendees will receive free financial resources at the event from the Georgia Secretary of State Securities Division.
