SEGA Weekly Traffic Interruption Advisory – June 5-11, 2021

Georgia DOT continues essential road work throughout Southeast Georgia Saturday, June 5 through Friday, June 11.

All work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling thru work zones, pay attention and watch for workers. 

Traffic interruptions are listed below by interstates, categories, and counties. 

Interstate 95 Interruptions 

SR 144 @ I-95 (Exit 90)           Bryan County 

Thunderbird Drive to Longwood Drive in Richmond Hill
SR 144 New traffic pattern through interchange traffic flow on southside lanes under I-95 bridge 

I-95 Striping Operation             Bryan & Chatham Counties 

US17 (Exit 87) to Quacco Road overpass bridge 

Slow moving rolling lane closures with temporarily blocking of ramps 

7 p.m. thru 6 a.m.  (June 4  – June 11) 
 
Interstate 16 Interruptions 

SR 67 to I-95           Bulloch, Bryan, Effingham and Chatham Counties 

Lane closures for slab repair and replacement with asphalt shoulder repair  

Monday through Sunday: 

From Milepost 126 to 142 East and Westbound, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

From Milepost 142 to 157 Eastbound,from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.(June 12)  

I –16 MP 165 to MP 167                                    Chatham County       

Exit 167 A&B – Gwinnett St & MLK Ramps 

EB and WB nighttime lane closures for Bridge Overlay Construction 

Continuous single lane closures over the weekend for bridge overlay construction  

June 1 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. thru June 11  

US17/SR 25 

From Ogeechee River to I-516 (MM 0.00 – MM 10.611)         Chatham County  

Single Lane Closures for milling and asphalt paving 

May 21 through June 11 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. 

Bridge Closures and Road Detours 

Olive Branch Road (CR 12) over I-16      Bryan County 

Road closure for bridge raising and rehabilitation 

Closing June 1 and expected reopening in July 

Detour Route: US 280, US 80 

Arcola Road @ Upper Black Creek Bridge       Bulloch County 

Near Rozier Rd 

Road closure for the bridge replacement project 

Expected reopening:  November 2021 

Detour Route: SR 46, SR 67, Brooklet-Denmark Rd, Mud Rd 

Excelsior Church Rd @ Ten Mile Creek           Candler County 

Near Dutch Ford Road 

Road Closure for the bridge replacement project 

Expected reopening:  July 2021 

Detour Route:  Dutch Ford Rd, Turner Rd, Jones Rd 

Bridge Construction, Rehabilitation, and Maintenance 

SR 17(Bloomingdale Rd) over I-16              Chatham County 

Pine Barren Rd to John Carter Rd 

Lane closures for bridge overlay construction 

Nightly 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through June 11 

Islands Expressway               Chatham County 

From Elba Island Rd to Oatland Island Rd 

East & West single lane traffic flow on a single bridge 

Continuous until further notice  

US17/SR25 on Sidney Lanier Bridge  Glynn County 

Lane Closures for Bridge Rehabilitation Project 

Monday thru Sunday, 6am to 6pm   

SR4/US1 Over Altamaha River                     Appling-Toombs 

West River Rd. (Appling Co.) to Bob Cato Rd. (Toombs Co.)  

Daily Lane Closures for Bridge Construction Activities  

Monday thru Friday, from 8:00am to 6:00pm  (5-20-21 to 8-31-21)
