Statesboro Food Bank Asking for Specific Donations

The Statesboro Food Bank is asking for specific donations of food to help assist with providing food security during hard times. The organization says their current stock is low.

In a post made on social media Wednesday morning, the group said:

We appreciate any and all donations of food that help us provide food security during these hard times…We are low, low, low again.

Most needed items:

  • Vegetables (we have green beans and corn, and mac and cheese but short on all other items)
  • Tomato sauce, pasta sauce
  • Pork and beans, baked beans
  • Black eyed peas, sweet peas
  • Boxed dinners – Hamburger Helper, rice-a-roni, etc.
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned meat (spam, tuna, canned chicken)
  • Peanut Butter (Always) and Jelly

We also have a lot of wonderful donations of oatmeal – some brown sugar would be a wonderful compliment for these donations.

This is a hot summer – with an ever degrading facility (we are working hard on getting our new building started) and I am grateful for our staff and volunteers. We will get it to the people…with your help.

Anyone wishing to make donations can do so at the Statesboro Food Bank – 400 Donnie Simmons Way, Statesboro, GA 30458. Call 912-489-3663 for more information.
