Mr. Donnie Allen Lane

Mr. Donnie Allen Lane, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 12th 2023, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro following complications from pneumonia.

Donnie was born in Statesboro, GA on August 9th 1954 to the late John Allen Lane and Bernisteen Davis Lane. He was raised in Aline, GA and was a 1972 graduate of Metter High School. He worked for Metter Industries, ITT Grinnell for 26 years, and Briggs and Stratton for 5 years until retiring.  Donnie was a “Jack of all trades” and could fix, build, and repair just about anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as two sons, Michael Allen Lane and Nicholas Allen Lane, and his sister, Wanda Lane Smith. Donnie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kay Allmond Lane, his daughter, Crystal Lane, both of Portal, GA, his brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Teresa Lane of Statesboro, his brother-in-law, Billy Allmond of Waynesville, NC, his sisters-in-law, Diane Allmond and Bonnie Allmond, both of Portal, GA, and Joyce Reese of Faulkville, GA, his uncle and aunt, Ben and Betty J. Davis Wilkinson of Richmond Hill, GA, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews, and his special dog companions, GiGi and Nayla. A private service will be held at a later date.
