Duane Edwin Swanson, left this world to eternal rest on February 22, 2024, at the age of 61.
Duane was born on December 22, 1962 to Reverend Wayne and Jean Swanson of Statesboro GA. Duane owned DES Paint and Remodeling Company for many years. Over the years he took great pride in remodeling homes and building custom projects for his customers. He enjoyed the great outdoors, working with his hands, and was a big fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Bulldogs. Duane attended CrossRoads Community Church and had a big heart for those who suffered from poverty.
Duane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Ruby Swanson of Fitzgerald, GA and Floyd and Evelyn Vickers of Douglas, GA.
He is survived by his parents Reverend Wayne and Jean Swanson of Statesboro, GA, a brother and sister-n-law, Cary and Janet Swanson of Fort Myers, FL, and nephews Reed Swanson of Spokane, Washington, Rhett Swanson of Fort Myers, FL and Ryan Swanson of Destin, FL along with many family members.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 2:00pm until the funeral hour.
Funeral services will be at 4:00pm at CrossRoads Community Church with Pastor Cary Swanson officiating assisted by Reverend LeRoy Spivey and Reverend James Lewis. The Internment will be at Bulloch Memorial Gardens. The CrossRoads Community Church Elders will serve as pallbearers.
