Mrs. Cynthia “Cindy” Craun

Mrs. Cynthia “Cindy” Craun, 54, of Oliver, GA, passed away on January 22, 2024, at the Optim Medical Center Screven. She loved time spent outdoors, doing yard work or watching birds, and loved a good rain. What she cherished most was her time spent with family, especially her grandson and her late husband. She also enjoyed riding ATVs and motorcycles, anything that her son would ride she would follow suit. She was an educator at the Screven County Elementary School for many years and loved all of her students, and was still in contact with some of them. She was a member of Newington Baptist Church and had recently attended Bible Baptist Church in Statesboro. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Dale “Wally” Craun Sr., her father, Charles Henry Freeman. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Kayla C. and Spenser Evans, Wallace Dale Craun, Jr., all of Oliver, and Wendy Purnell of Brooklet; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including her heart, John Alan; and her mother, Louise Freeman of Oliver; siblings and their spouses, Herbert and Becky Holland, David (Amanda) Freeman, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Jack Craun of Oliver, Deborah Grimsley of Winchester, VA, James Craun of Statesboro, Kathy Cervantes of Arlington, TX; Leanne Simmons of Oliver, and Sabrina Stephens of Garden City, GA; as well as lots of special nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday January 26, 2024 in the Screven Chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home, with Bro. Aaron Webb officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Newington City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Freeman, Steve Simmons, Mitch Simmons, Stephen Craun, Jamie Craun, Jeff Craun, Glenn Craun, and Mark Jones.
