Glenda Joyce Boatright, 66 of Bulloch County, went to be with Jesus and the love of her life, Tommy, on November 29th. Her heart took its final beat while she held the hand of her son Brian at home where she had hoped it would. She was born in Waycross, Georgia, on May 30, 1957. She was a homemaker for most of her life, and her family was her heart. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, house cleaner, and organizer. She was a talented flower gardener, and her grandchildren say that she was the “flower whisperer.” She had a phenomenal green thumb and could start and sustain just about any plant’s life. Plants weren’t all that she nurtured, as Glenda selflessly helped raise two of her grandchildren, Gavin and Trenton, as if they were her own and adored them both, as she did all of her grandchildren. Glenda loved spending time with her family, and even when she had become ill and unable to breathe well, she still made the effort to see them. She was an avid music lover and was well known for her enormous collection of fine glassware. She was a member at Riverside Baptist Church. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Tommy; her parents, Vivian Marlene Lloyd and Harold Vernon Lloyd Sr.; her brother, Harold Vernon Lloyd Jr. (Hal); and her sister, Venita Lloyd Finch. She is survived by her son, Brian Boatright (Amy); her daughter, Sabrina Boatright; seven grandchildren, Crista Boatright Green (Seth), Christopher Boatright (Skyler), Christian Boatright, Gavin O’Brien (Justice), Trenton O’Brien, Kyndal Boatright, and Amara Boatright; two great-grandchildren, River Boatright and Addielynn O’Brien; two sisters, Sherry Estill (Late Jimmy) and Rachel Chase (Mike); and several nieces and nephews who were very special to her. The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 4th at 10am with services to follow at 11am at Trinity Baptist Church, 1172 Nevils-Denmark Rd, in Nevils, GA. Rev. Joe Eason will officiate the service. Glenda will be laid to rest at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Wilson, Luis Nunez, Jacob Gay, Mike Usher, Brian Davis, and Eddie O’Brien.
