Mrs. Rosa Lee Williams, age 93, entered eternal rest Sunday, March 31, 2024, at her daughter’s residence.
She received her formal education in the Bulloch County School System and later received her cosmetology degree from Madam Freemans School of Cosmetology in 1957.
Sister Rosa Lee Williams dedicated her life to God and became a member of the Elm Street Church of God at an early age. She later moved to Portal, GA and then became a member of the Portal Church of God under the leadership of the late Elder Early Humphries, where she served as church secretary for many years.
Sister Rosa Lee was married in union by God to Robert Lewis Williams on October 22, 1951. They were blessed with ten children and a lot of responsibility. She was the queen of her castle and the lady of the farm.
Rosa Lee Snellings Williams was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert Lewis “R.L.” Williams Sr and her parents, David Snelling and Melrose Parrish, stepfather, Willie C Parrish, a sister, May Bertha Jones and a grandson, Marquez Smith.
She leaves to carry on her legacy of loving God and all people, her truly blessed 10 children: James (Lucinda) Williams of Rocky Ford, GA, Merlene Randall of Statesboro, Robert II (Janice) of Jonesboro, GA, Henry of Savannah, GA, Linda Parrish, Mableton, GA, Abraham (Linda) of Portal, Janice (Daniel) Parrish of Savannah, Ga, John Williams of Portal, GA, Debbie Lewis of Riverdale, GA, Timothy (Tammy) Williams of Woodstock, GA. She also leaves to mourn her loving heart several in laws; Adabelle Hill of West Palm Beach, Fl, Johnny Williams of Portal, GA and Sarah Johnson of Statesboro, GA; two nieces who endeared her like a mother, Sarah Parrish and Darlene Jones, she leaves recipes, and a legacy of wisdom to over 36 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A viewing for Mrs. Williams will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, from, 4 P.M. to 7 P.M., at the funeral home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Rosa Lee Williams, will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Elm Street Church of God with the Pastor Alexander Smith, Jr., officiating. Interment will be held in the Lee-Hodge Cemetery.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
