Ms. Amy Luree Prince, age 88 made her transition from this earthly life on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at her residence, after a long illness, to, be with the Lord. She was a native of Bulloch County and the daughter of the late James Prince, Sr. and Ruby Littles Prince Johnson, She was reared from a toddler in Miami, Florida by her uncle and aunt, Papa and Maebell Littles. She attended the public schools of Miami, Dade County, Florida and was a 1952 graduate of Dorsey High School. She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church of Richmond Heights, Miami, Florida and was retired from West Dade Detention and Correctional Center in 1998. After many years in Miami she returned to Statesboro where she remained until her demise.
She is survived by her children, three sons, Vernon (Tora) Prince, Miami, FL, Michael Prince and Keith Prince both of Statesboro; one Deatrick Prince, Miami, FL; four aunts, Alice Catherine (Willie) Long, Margaret Harris and Yvonne Prince all of Ft Pierce, FL and Cookie Prince, Ft Lauderdale, FL; one uncle, Generette (Jeanette) Prince also of Ft. Pierce, FL; one sister-in-law, Reverend Sarah Scott Prince, Statesboro; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of life for Ms. Prince will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Original First African Baptist Church, 545 Westside Road, Statesboro, Georgia with the Reverend Gaston Smith, eulogist and Elder Donald Chavers, Jr. presiding. The Reverend Christopher Culbreth, I, is the pastor. The earthly resting place will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
The walk through visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
