Statesboro, Georgia Ms. Cynthia Mare Jones, age 64, entered rest, Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Rev. Samuel Lee Jones and the late Mae Bertha Jones. She attended the High Hope School and was a resident of Silkwood. Growing up she help raise her sister’s children. They enjoyed watching Cynthia’s favorite shows, the Cosby show and Family Matters. She also enjoyed fine foods and singing. Cynthia is preceded in death by 8 brothers: Johnny, Gartrell, George Willie, Roosevelt, Charles, Samuel Jr., Albert, and Kenneth; two sisters, Ella Mae and Sherbie Jean. She leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters, Darlene Jones of Statesboro GA, Sarah Parrish of Deerfield Beach FL and Earnestine (Walter) Smith of Portal GA; two brothers, Minister Lonnie F. (Betty) Jones of Portal GA, and Ricky Davis of Savannah GA; one sister-in-law, Candacy Jones of Statesboro GA, one brother-in-law, Clinton Washington Sr.; special niece and nephews, Lakiesha Washington, Pernell Jones and Clinton Washington Jr.; two aunts, Rosa L. Williams of Atlanta GA and Patricia Taylor of Brooklet GA; one uncle, Richard Daughtry of Twin City GA, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A walk-through viewing for Ms. Jones will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm, Friday, December 1, 2023, at the funeral home. The funeral service for Ms. Cynthia Mare Jones, will be held Saturday, December 1, 2023, at the Portal Church of God with Pastor Joyce Smith, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Hodge Cemetery. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
