Ms. Donna Michelle Reed

Donna Michelle Reed, age 50, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice at their inpatient facility in Statesboro after a five-year battle with cancer. Donna was born on February 22, 1973 in Statesboro, GA. She attended Statesboro High School and enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and her beloved dog, Ebony. She loved keeping up with everyone and sharing special moments with her family and friends. Donna was especially proud of her daughters and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Freda Colson Driggers and James “Sonny” Driggers. Donna is survived by her two daughters, Candi Reed (Evan Lee) and Chelsea Reed (Nathan Noe), both of Statesboro; her grandchildren, Cayson Allen, Karter Noe, Kaitlyn Noe, and Kenzly Noe; her father, James Paul Driggers of Statesboro; her mother, Janette Braswell Simmons (Butch Simmons) of Metter; her significant other of 17 years, Jacob Dempsey; her step-mother; Deloris Brooks of Vidalia; two siblings, DeAnn Willis (Tony Willis) of Reidsville and Tami Wilson of Vidalia; as well as many uncles and cousins. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Huffingham officiating. Burial will follow in Emit Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family request that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, PO Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
