Jacqueline “Jackie” Cleland, 76, of Sylvania, passed at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Screven County and was born to David Herman and Evelyn Bazemore Cleland. She graduated from Screven County High School, Class of 1966.
She was employed with Sylvania Ford, Johnson Chevrolet, and King Finishing. She attended Green Hill Baptist Church, and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, and loved caring for her animals and cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her daughter and fiancé, Christa Cleland and Wayne Newton of Pooler; her sisters, Kate Lantz of Sylvania and Louise Freeman of Oliver; and special friends, Elizabeth and Roy “Burke” Burke of Sylvania.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 with Rev. David Sharpe officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Burial will be private.
Honorary pallbearers will be Corey Calhoun, J.C. Jackson, Duane Lewis, Michael Washington, Jason Freeman, Jerry Fail and Ernest Washington.
