Mr. Robert Mercer Curry, age 65, of Statesboro, Georgia and Irving, Texas, died Friday, January 26, 2024, after a short bout with cancer.
He was born on September 17, 1958, in Statesboro, Georgia and was the son of Gene Mercer Curry and Frances Parker Curry. Mr. Curry was a graduate of Statesboro High School and a proud Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia before moving to Irving, Texas, to pursue a career as a database administrator. He worked for many prominent companies including Texas Instruments and IBM before moving back to Statesboro in his final years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, Dr. Donald McCoy Curry. Surviving are his brother, Richard Parker Curry (Deborah), and nephews, Scott Alan Curry; Dr. Jason Andrew Curry (Elizabeth); and Brian Matthew Curry (Jennifer).
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Eastside Cemetery at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Robbie Norman officiating.
