Join us as we chat with Ray Davis, candidate for Bulloch County Board of Commissioners in District 2A. Hear his campaign platform, why he’s running in this election, and where he stands on the issues impacting Bulloch County. Election Day is May 21st. Early voting begins April 29.

Name on Ballot: Ray M. Davis
For which office are you seeking: County Commissioner District 2 – Seat A
Employment/Profession: Self – Farming: row crops and timber
Military Service: None

Can you allocate the time to attend and actively participate in all required meetings and additional functions? Not guaranteed: Emergencies and priorities come up, but will fulfill my obligation, if elected by the voters.

Political Experience: None

Civic Involvement:
a. Served on Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Board 1994-2002: Building Mill Creek Park in Statesboro, Building parks in Stilson, Nevils, addition in Brooklet and improvement in Portal
b. Stilson School
c. Stilson Fire Department
d. Leefield Fire Department
e. Bulloch County EMS Communication Tower (Driggers Field: Ball Park Road)

If you have yet to gain prior political experience or involvement, give your reasons for seeking this position and your qualifications for office: I heard my community calling and feel lead to serve the people of Bulloch County.

How would you best explain the duties of the office you seek? Accountability to the voters that elected me in respect to: their community, financial responsibility, conservative growth management and transparency.

Are you willing to speak and communicate with the citizens that you serve? Yes

What are your biggest concerns for the County and the citizens you are running to represent? Tax increase, water and growth.

What changes or improvements would you like to see made in Bulloch County? Would have to be cognizant of the facts that lead to tax increase and water issues.

What would you like to see continue in Bulloch County? Serving the citizens of Bulloch County with responsibility, where as people can raise families in their communities that have particular characteristics in common.

How would you balance the interests of the taxpayers with the needs of the citizens? With fiduciary responsibility, as noted in the question on hearing their concerns.

I would like to add… Bulloch County voters need to come out and VOTE and let their voice be heard.


Davis is challenging incumbent Curt Deal for Commission District 2A. Deal was offered an interview, but did not respond to those offers.
