ECSO to host 2nd annual ‘Silent Santa’ event for kids with special needs

The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Effingham County School District, will host a one-of-a-kind event for families of children with special needs this holiday season.

ECSO will host the 2nd annual ‘Silent Santa’ event this Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at enCompass Academy, located at 501 Richland Avenue in Rincon.

This event will provide families and their children with a calm and supportive environment and feature various sensory-friendly stations, including a designated area for pictures with Santa Claus.

“We believe that every child deserves to experience the joy of the holiday season without any barriers. This Silent Santa event is an opportunity for families of children with special needs to create lasting memories in a supportive and understanding environment. We look forward in celebrating the holiday spirit together,” says Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie.

This event is open to all children in the county who are in ‘Adapted Curriculum Classes’ (GAA). To register, contact your child’s teacher. If you have any questions, email jrahn@effingham.k12.ga.us or hodom@effingham.k12.ga.us.
