Northwest Georgia: GDOT to Update 78 Miles of I-75 Signage

Motorists can expect new signage along I-75 in the coming months. Georgia Department of Transportation awarded North Cherokee Electrical a $3.94 million contract to replace the signage on the interstate from Glade Road to the Tennessee state line. The project is slated to be finished next summer.

It was one of several contracts awarded last month by GDOT for projects throughout District Six.

“The weather is warming up, and that means we’re able to ramp up our work,” said GDOT District Six Engineer Grant Waldrop. “All of these upcoming projects will enhance and improve our roadways, and we look forward to getting them underway.”

Other Contracts Awarded:

  • Resurfacing 3.7 miles of the SR 166 Connector between SR 1 and SR 166 in Carroll County. The contract is worth $1.73 million and should be completed January 31, 2022.
  • Resurfacing 2.9 miles of SR 53 Spur in Gordon County. The $1.43 million project is slated to be completed January 31, 2022.
  • Resurfacing 6.7 miles of US 27 in Haralson County for $3.41 million. The project is scheduled to be completed by January 31, 2022.
